Hello Entomatadas

08/11/2009

Here’s my take on a typical Mexican dish from the region of Oaxaca. This Entomatada recipe is simple to prepare and requires only a few ingredients. The secret to succeeding with this dish is in the sauce and never serve cold! Entomatadas are incredibly filling and oh so, indulging!

Ingredients (Makes (4) Entomatadas):
2 large roma tomatoes
1 garlic clove
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 large corn tortillas
1/2 cup of Queso Fresco (Mexican Cheese)
1 cup of Tillamook Vintage White Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese or Monterey Jack
(Highly recommend the Tillamook)
1/2 cup of sour cream or Crema Fresca
Slices of fresh avocado

See video for step by step instructions.

How do you prepare your Entomatadas?

Ok, I found this site on a random search a couple of days ago. Love it :) I tried your entomatada recipe yesterday, added some chicken cooked in salsa inside the tortilla, and WOW was it good! I especially love the roasted tomato/garlic sauce.

Thank you, and keep doing what you’re doing!

    Megan,

Maybe you should post your recipe. I tried this recipe today and it was truly disgusting. My entire family thought it would be great to make, it looked so simple and good. We ended up throwing it all away. What a waste of food and money. Sadly, I followed the video exactly and this recipe is just not good.

  • LC

It looks good, but it’s not! The flavor is waaaay off from an entomatada. :(

    Glad you enjoyed it, Megan.

I learned this recipe from my grandmother. Please don’t insult my grandmother’s recipe. She’s from Mexico and has been cooking for over 70 years, god rest her soul.
